ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has revised fuel prices for the start of the new week, providing a slight relief in petrol rates while increasing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD).
According to the latest notification, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs1 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs334.18 per litre from Rs335.18. In contrast, high-speed diesel has become more expensive by Rs3.37 per litre, taking the new price to Rs386.83 per litre from Rs383.46.
The latest adjustment follows a series of daily revisions introduced earlier this month. Since July 18, petrol prices have increased by Rs23.46 per litre overall, while diesel has surged by Rs63.50 per litre, reflecting continued volatility in international oil markets and domestic pricing adjustments.
Earlier, on July 24, petrol was increased by Rs3.66 per litre and diesel by Rs4.80 per litre. Despite Tuesday’s slight reduction in petrol, transporters and businesses are expected to face higher operating costs due to the continued rise in diesel prices, which could also affect inflation and transportation charges across Pakistan.
