RAWALPINDI: The medical check-up of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been completed at Adiala Jail, according to informed sources.

The follow-up examination was carried out by a team of doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Shifa International Hospital. Renowned ophthalmologists Dr. Arif and Dr. Nadeem Qureshi reportedly conducted a series of detailed eye tests during the visit.

Sources said multiple assessments were performed to evaluate his vision, and doctors expressed satisfaction with the results. Reports indicate that Imran Khan’s eyesight has shown noticeable improvement compared to previous examinations.

Concerns Raised Over Health

Earlier in the day, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, voiced serious concerns regarding the former premier’s health and the government’s approach to his medical care.

Speaking to media representatives, she stated that her brother’s health remains the family’s top priority. She claimed that during his last examination, he had indicated that his eye condition had not significantly improved.

Aleema Khan alleged that official claims regarding his recovery were misleading, asserting that his affected eye was “90 percent not healed” and that the family had yet to receive a comprehensive medical report. She also expressed fears that complications could impact his other eye.

She demanded that Imran Khan be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for more comprehensive treatment, arguing that independent medical access is essential.

Aleema Khan further criticised the authorities for rejecting doctors recommended by the family and instead appointing their own medical team to conduct examinations at Adiala Jail. She claimed that one of the government-appointed doctors, who had initially been suggested by the family, later ceased communication with their medical representatives, raising concerns about transparency.

She also stated that although the family of Bushra Bibi was permitted entry into the jail premises, they were not allowed to meet Imran Khan.

Senior lawyer Latif Khosa has filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the matter, she confirmed.

Aleema Khan urged the government to ensure independent medical evaluation and timely treatment for the PTI founder without further delay.
