ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution lauding the armed forces of Pakistan for their decisive and befitting response to Indian aggression through the successful Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
The resolution, presented by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar during a session chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the military victory and congratulated the nation on what was termed a historic triumph. It paid tribute to the armed forces and the people of Pakistan for their unity, courage, and contributions toward the operation’s success.
Lawmakers from all political parties joined together in chants of “Pakistan Zindabad,” symbolizing national unity and solidarity. The resolution also acknowledged the sacrifices made by both military personnel and civilians during the operation, emphasizing their bravery and dedication.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Ali Muhammad Khan led prayers in remembrance of the martyrs, recognizing their role in defending the country.
In parallel, the Punjab Assembly passed a similar resolution presented by Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar. The provincial resolution commended the unity shown by the government, opposition, armed forces, and the public, and gave special praise to the Pakistan Air Force for its critical role in defeating the enemy.
Earlier in the day, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif reiterated that any future dialogue with India would center around the issues of Kashmir, terrorism, and water disputes. He highlighted Pakistan’s position as the region’s greatest victim of terrorism and called for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue.
