Karachi: Pakistan and Turkiye are two Countries but one Nation and during recent conflicts with India we help to our brothers and sisters because Turkiye naver forget Pakistani people help during Khalafat time that's why it's mentioned in school celebers these were expressed by Mr. Cemal Sangu, Consul General of the Republic of Turkiye during the meeting with high power PTA delegation headed by its Chairman (Southern Zone) Dr. Danish Aman, at the Consulate premises.
Delegation of Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA), Consisting of its Central Chairman Mr.Hamid Arshad Zahur, Vice Chairman PTA Mr.Danish Aman, Vice Chairman PTA-SZ Mr.Yousuf Shafiq along with other prominent members. On the occasion Mr.Murat Ozmen, Commercial Attache of Turkiye also present.
Mr.Danish Aman expressed deepest regards for all the support received from the people and the government of Turkiye in the recent standoff with India and the successful completion of Operation Bunyaan un Marsoos.
Turkiye and Pakistan have a long history of trade relations, specially in the leather sector, with Turkish Manufacturers of Chemicals, Tanning Machinery, Turkish domestic raw materials, Double Face and Shearling Leathers exporting their products to the manufacturers in Pakistan. At the same time, finished and semi-finished leathers as well as value added products like leather garments, leather gloves and footwear are being exported to Turkiye as well. Both sides stressed the need to enhance mutual trade between the two countries by exploring each others markets and establishing frequent contacts via visits of trade delegation as well. Such visits should open up the possibilities of joint ventures in the near future.
The Counsel General informed that a Preferential Trade Agreement is in its final stages between Pakistan and Turkiye. He suggested that PTA should look into it thoroughly by contacting the Ministry of Commerce and seeking preferential tariffs in order to increase the trade between the two countries in the near future.
Chairman PTA invited Mr.Cemal Sangu and Mr.Murat Ozmen to the Pakistan Mega Leather Show to be held in January 2026 in Lahore. Mr.Murat was requested invite Turkish Manufacturers of Leather and related products to visit and exhibit at the PMLS 2026 and explore the approximately USD 1.0billion market that Pakistan has to offer.
