ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis are set to enjoy seven holidays during August 2026, as the month includes five Sundays along with two official public holidays announced by the federal government.

According to the Cabinet Division’s public and optional holidays calendar for 2026, the five Sundays will fall on August 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. In addition, August 14 has been declared a public holiday to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day, while August 25 will be observed as a public holiday on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH).

The combination of weekly holidays and public holidays means government employees and many private-sector workers could enjoy a total of seven holidays during the month. However, private companies may follow their own holiday policies depending on operational requirements.

The announcement allows families, students, and travellers to plan celebrations, religious observances, and leisure activities well in advance during August 2026.
