ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased petrol and high-speed diesel prices, with the revised rates coming into effect for one day.
According to the notification, the petrol price has been increased by Rs2.31 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) has become 78 paisas per litre more expensive.
Following the revision, petrol will now be available at Rs398.96 per litre, while the new price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs395.72 per litre.
Meanwhile, consumers eligible for the Petrol Relief Scheme can continue to avail discounted fuel.
Under the scheme, motorcycle and Cingchi rickshaw owners are entitled to a Rs100 per litre discount on up to 20 litres of petrol per month. Owners of vehicles with engines up to 800cc can receive discounted petrol for up to 30 litres per month.
To register, eligible applicants need to send an SMS to 9771 containing “REG”, their CNIC number, vehicle registration number, the first word of their province name and the vehicle registration date.
After successful registration, applicants will receive a confirmation message.
To obtain the discounted petrol, registered consumers must send “TOK” to 9771 before visiting a petrol station. A token number will be sent via SMS, which must be presented at the fuel station to claim the discount.
A confirmation message will be issued after the transaction is completed.
