KARACHI: Ali Jafri, the young man allegedly kidnapped and tortured within the jurisdiction of Sahil Police Station, has rejected claims that a financial dispute triggered the incident and demanded justice against the accused.
Speaking exclusively to ARY News from inside the police station, Ali Jafri recounted the alleged ordeal and said there was no financial dispute between him and the suspects.
According to Ali Jafri, the accused kidnapped him, subjected him to severe physical abuse, shaved his head and forced him to eat his own hair. He further alleged that the suspects showed him pictures of his family and threatened to subject his relatives to similar treatment if he sought legal assistance.
Ali Jafri said he was not seeking revenge or a monetary settlement, but wanted the matter to be dealt with strictly through the legal system.
Earlier, the family of accused Malik Ibrahim had claimed that the incident was linked to a financial dispute involving around Rs60,000 to Rs70,000.
Ali Jafri categorically denied the claim, saying he had no financial dealings with Ibrahim and did not know the suspects before the alleged incident. He said that whenever he needed money, he would ask his brother or sister.
Recalling the incident, Ali Jafri said the suspects intercepted him outside Lorenzo and forcibly took him away. He said he repeatedly asked them why he was being tortured and what his fault was, but was instead told to apologize.
The victim added that he did not know Malik Ibrahim before the incident and only learned the suspects' names after hearing them address one another while he was inside the vehicle.
In the latest development, a court has handed over Malik Ibrahim and the other accused to police on physical remand as the investigation into the alleged kidnapping and torture continues.
