DUBAI: Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam and 16 other Pakistani cricketers have entered the player pool for the fifth International League T20 (ILT20) auction, scheduled for October 1 at the ICC Academy Indoors.
More than 200 cricketers from 23 countries will be available in the auction, including players from 11 ICC Full Members, ILT20 partner countries Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and 10 other associate nations.
The 17 Pakistani players include Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, Usman Tariq, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Hassan Nawaz, Muhammad Nawaz, Saim Ayub, Khushdil Shah, Maaz Sadaqat and Sahibzada Farhan.
The players have been placed in three base-price categories of $80,000, $40,000 and $10,000.
Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Tariq are listed in the highest $80,000 base-price category.
Shadab Khan, Maaz Sadaqat and Hassan Nawaz are among the players placed in the $40,000 bracket.
Several high-profile international cricketers are also part of the auction pool, including Phil Salt, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Faf du Plessis, Alex Hales, Chris Woakes, Wanindu Hasaranga and Alzarri Joseph.
The fifth ILT20 season is scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates from November 22 to December 20.
Each franchise will be required to select between 18 and 23 players while meeting specific quotas for Full Member, UAE, Saudi Arabian, Kuwaiti and other associate players.
The auction will determine the final composition of squads for the upcoming ILT20 season.
