LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan and opening batter Imam-ul-Haq have been barred from participating in the upcoming President’s Trophy Grade One tournament after failing to appear for mandatory fitness tests.
Both players were expected to complete the required fitness assessment before joining their respective domestic teams. Imam-ul-Haq was named captain of OGDCL, while Rizwan was appointed vice-captain of Sui Gas.
Meanwhile, the two cricketers recently appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore over an investigation into alleged dressing-room information leaks during Pakistan’s England tour. They sought additional time to submit written responses.
The agency is examining data and contacts from their mobile phones, which were reportedly handed over by the PCB. The investigation follows an internal PCB inquiry into discipline and conduct after Pakistan’s disappointing Test series against England.
