KARACHI: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist near RCD Ground in Saudabad, Karachi, on Friday, after a speeding trailer ran over him.
According to initial reports, the trailer collided with the motorcycle at high speed, killing the rider instantly. The horrific nature of the accident triggered outrage among nearby residents and passersby, who caught the trailer driver and physically assaulted him.
Eyewitnesses said the driver tried to flee the scene following the collision but was quickly intercepted by the angry crowd. Police arrived promptly, brought the situation under control, and took the driver into custody. He was later shifted to the local police station for further legal action.
This is the latest in a string of fatal road accidents in the city involving heavy vehicles. Just last month, a motorcyclist lost his life when a speeding water tanker hit him at Vita Chowrangi in Korangi. In an earlier incident, a pregnant woman and her husband died after being run over by a water tanker while riding a motorcycle.
