Pakistan is set to modernize its education services as the Higher Education Commission (HEC) prepares to launch a fully digital degree attestation system aimed at simplifying the process for students and graduates nationwide. The initiative will allow applicants to complete the entire attestation procedure online, eliminating the need for physical visits and paperwork.
According to officials, the new system will be powered by blockchain technology, ensuring secure, transparent, and tamper-proof verification of academic credentials. Applicants will be able to submit requests, upload documents, and track their application status through an online portal, making the process more efficient and user-friendly.
To implement the project, HEC has signed an agreement with CMPak Limited and its joint venture partner Wibbow Technologies. The collaboration aims to develop a robust digital infrastructure that supports fast processing and reliable verification services.
The move is expected to significantly benefit students, particularly those living in remote areas or abroad, who often face challenges in accessing HEC offices. With the digital platform, users will be able to share verified degrees electronically with employers, universities, and foreign institutions, reducing delays and improving global acceptance of Pakistani qualifications.
Officials confirmed that the system is scheduled to become operational by June 30, 2026. The transition to digital services is part of the government’s broader push toward e-governance and digital transformation in Pakistan.
Education experts have welcomed the initiative, noting that it will enhance transparency, reduce fraud, and streamline administrative processes. The use of blockchain technology is also expected to increase trust in the verification system, making it more reliable for international use.
