KARACHI: Authorities have confirmed that Seaview beach and nearby areas will remain accessible to the public on New Year’s Eve, allowing citizens to celebrate while strict security arrangements are put in place.

The South district police have cautioned visitors against engaging in aerial firing, one-wheeling, or any form of unruly behavior. Officials warned that those involved in aerial firing would face registration of attempted murder cases under the law.

To ensure safety and maintain order, police have announced extensive security measures at Seaview. More than 2,400 police officers and personnel, including intelligence staff, will be deployed in the area. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police South, six police platoons will be stationed at Seaview and its surroundings, and no hooliganism will be tolerated.

The security plan includes the deployment of senior police officers, 80 mobile patrol units, and 106 motorcycle patrols. Mounted police units will also oversee the area, while intelligence teams remain on high alert.

To manage traffic flow, both tracks from Seaview McDonald’s to Khayaban-e-Ittehad will operate as one-way routes.
