KARACHI: A Karachi judicial magistrate’s court on Thursday acquitted Natasha, the accused in the Karsaz road accident case, in a separate drug-related case after prosecutors failed to prove that she had consumed narcotics.
The court said medical evidence did not establish drug use and noted that no traces of drugs were detected in Natasha’s blood test.
According to the prosecution, Natasha was allegedly driving a vehicle that struck a motorcycle carrying father and daughter Imran Arif and Amina Imran on Karsaz in August 2024, killing both. Two other people, Abdul Salam and Shane Alexander, were injured in the crash.
The accident case was registered at Bahadurabad police station following a complaint by Imtiaz, the brother of the deceased Imran. Prosecutors told the court that Natasha had already been acquitted in the main Karsaz accident case.
After finding that the prosecution had failed to establish the anti-narcotics charge, the court acquitted Natasha in the drug case.
