LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars etched their name in the history books with a sensational performance in the final of Pakistan Super League Season 10 (PSL X), completing the highest-ever chase in a PSL final to claim their third title. Under the dynamic leadership of 25-year-old Shaheen Shah Afridi, the Qalandars defeated their opponents in a thrilling contest, sealing their legacy as one of the most dominant franchises in the league's history.

Chasing a daunting target, Lahore Qalandars showcased nerves of steel and exceptional batting depth to secure victory in front of a packed Gaddafi Stadium. The historic win marks the Qalandars' third PSL title in just four years, making them the most consistent side of the modern era.

With this triumph, Shaheen Afridi has now become the most successful captain in PSL history, having led his side to three titles — a remarkable feat at such a young age. Afridi's aggressive captaincy, tactical brilliance, and leadership on and off the field have drawn praise from across the cricketing world.

Former Pakistan pacers Waqar Younis and Junaid Khan were among the many who lauded the Qalandars' incredible achievement. Waqar took to social media, calling it a "masterclass in pressure cricket," while Junaid Khan described it as “one of the greatest performances in PSL history.”

The Qalandars’ campaign this season was marked by resilience and teamwork. Key contributions came from emerging players and seasoned campaigners alike, reflecting the team’s strong bench strength and strategic depth. The final, however, belonged to the batsmen, who delivered a fearless performance to chase down a record target in style.

Head Coach Aaqib Javed praised the players for their commitment and unity, saying, "This victory is not just about talent but about the belief we’ve built as a unit over the years. These players have matured into warriors.”

The match was not without drama, as the final overs kept fans on the edge of their seats. Yet, Lahore’s cool-headed approach ensured they crossed the finish line, sending the crowd into a frenzy and social media into celebration mode.

As Lahore Qalandars lift their third PSL trophy, the cricketing fraternity has recognized their rise as a powerhouse in Pakistan’s premier T20 league. Shaheen Afridi’s place in history as the most successful captain in PSL is now firmly secured, and with a young core and proven leadership, the Qalandars seem set to dominate for years to come.
