KARACHI: The Electrical Engineering Department of NED University of Engineering & Technology successfully held its much-anticipated Final Year Design Project (FYDP) Exhibition 2025. The event brought together graduating students, faculty members, industry professionals, and distinguished guests to celebrate the culmination of innovative academic research and practical engineering solutions.
The exhibition commenced with a formal opening ceremony featuring addresses by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail; Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Prof. Dr. Saad Ahmed Qazi; and Chairperson of the Electrical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Ataullah Khawaja.
The core exhibition showcased over fifty final-year projects developed by undergraduate students. These projects spanned various engineering domains including power systems, renewable energy, embedded systems, signal processing, industrial automation, and artificial intelligence. Each project addressed real-world challenges in energy, environmental sustainability, and industrial innovation, reflecting the students’ readiness to contribute to both industry and research.
In the afternoon session, Engr. Amjad Ahmed, a seasoned engineering professional with over 30 years of global experience, delivered an insightful talk on engineering practices, project execution, and plant maintenance. His address was followed by a talk from Mr. Nazir Ahmed Vaid, who emphasized innovation and entrepreneurship as key drivers in modern engineering.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of the NED student team that secured the 2nd runner-up position at EPIC 2025, organized by K-Electric. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, distribution of certificates, and presentation of mementos.
