KARACHI: Traffic authorities in Karachi have announced a detailed traffic management plan ahead of the Youm-e-Quds rally scheduled to take place in the city on Friday.
The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province to observe Jumma-tul-Wida.
According to officials, the main Youm-e-Quds rally in Karachi will begin after Friday prayers. The procession will start from Numaish Chowrangi and move along M.A. Jinnah Road before reaching Tibet Centre and Aman Tower.
Karachi traffic police have advised motorists to avoid M.A. Jinnah Road during the rally and instead use alternative routes to ensure smooth traffic flow.
A traffic police spokesperson stated that several sections of M.A. Jinnah Road will remain closed due to the procession. Vehicles coming from Gurumandir and Soldier Bazaar will be diverted toward Bahadur Yar Jang Road and the area near Holy Family Hospital.
Traffic approaching from Lasbela will be redirected through Nishtar Road, Ranchore Line, and Civil Hospital. Motorists travelling from Banaras Signal have been advised to use routes via PP Chowrangi and Corridor-3.
Similarly, vehicles arriving from Tibet Chowk will be diverted toward Regal Chowk and Empress Market, while some traffic may also be directed toward Jubilee and Aga Khan Hospital.
Traffic police officials stated that personnel will be deployed along alternate routes to guide motorists and reduce disruption during the Youm-e-Quds observance.
Citizens have been urged to plan their travel in advance and follow the designated alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
