ISLAMABAD: Electricity consumers across Pakistan are set to face higher bills after the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved tariff increases under monthly and quarterly adjustments.
Under the monthly fuel price adjustment for July, electricity rates have been increased by Rs2.06 per unit, with the hike to be reflected in September bills. The adjustment is expected to place an additional burden of around Rs33 billion on consumers.
Separately, NEPRA approved a 52-paisa-per-unit increase under the quarterly tariff adjustment for April to June 2026. The hike will remain effective from September through November and is expected to add another Rs12.67 billion to consumers’ bills.
The quarterly adjustment will also apply to K-Electric customers in Karachi. Combined, the two tariff adjustments are expected to impose an additional burden of approximately Rs45.67 billion on electricity consumers.
