ISLAMABAD: Prices of several petroleum products in Pakistan are expected to be revised upward from February 1, amid ongoing inflationary pressures, while petrol prices may witness a marginal decline, according to official sources.

Sources indicate that the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) is likely to rise by Rs9.47 per litre. Kerosene oil prices may increase by Rs3.69 per litre, while light diesel oil is expected to become costlier by Rs6.95 per litre. In contrast, petrol prices are projected to decrease slightly by 36 paisas per litre.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has finalized its calculations for the proposed price adjustments and is expected to forward a summary to the Petroleum Division on Thursday.

Following consultations with the prime minister, the Petroleum Division is likely to issue an official notification regarding the revised prices on January 31. The new prices, once approved, will take effect from February 1.

Earlier, on January 15, the federal government had decided to keep fuel prices unchanged for the previous fortnight. At that time, petrol was priced at Rs253.17 per litre, while high-speed diesel stood at Rs257.08 per litre, effective from January 16.

Previously, on December 31, 2025, the government announced a significant reduction in fuel prices. Petrol prices were cut by Rs10.28 per litre, while high-speed diesel prices were reduced by Rs8.57 per litre.
