Gold price jumps Rs.13,700 to record Rs.471,936 per tola

KARACHI: Gold prices surged sharply in Pakistan’s local market on Thursday, rising by Rs13,700 per tola in line with a strong increase in international bullion prices.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold increased to Rs471,936 per tola, while the price of 10 grams rose by Rs11,746 to Rs404,609.

In the international bullion market, gold prices climbed by $137 per ounce to $4,495, supporting the sharp rise in domestic rates.

Silver prices also recorded a significant increase in the local market. The price of silver rose by Rs317 per tola to Rs7,169, while 10 grams of silver increased to Rs6,146.

The latest jump follows a volatile week for precious metals in Pakistan. On Wednesday, gold prices fell by Rs3,700 per tola to Rs458,236 despite a strong rise in international rates. On Tuesday, the local gold price remained unchanged at Rs461,936 per tola.

On Monday, gold had gained Rs2,000 per tola, reaching Rs461,936, while the price of 10 grams increased by Rs1,715 to Rs396,035.

The latest surge highlights continued volatility in the precious metals market, with domestic prices closely tracking movements in international bullion markets.
