KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan registered a sharp decline on Tuesday, following a downward trend in the international bullion market.
According to market data, the price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs9,000 per tola, bringing the new rate to Rs514,762 per tola. Similarly, the price of gold per 10 grams decreased by Rs7,716, settling at Rs441,325.
In the global market, gold prices also witnessed a significant drop of $90 per ounce, taking the new international rate to $4,920 per ounce.
Silver prices mirrored the declining trend. The price of silver per tola dropped by Rs150, reaching Rs8,014, while the rate per 10 grams declined by Rs129 to stand at Rs6,870.
The substantial decrease in local bullion rates comes in response to fluctuations in international metal prices.
