KARACHI: Gold experienced a noteworthy surge in Pakistan, with a substantial increase of Rs1,300 per tola reported in the local market on Friday.
Muhammad Arshad, the head of the All Pakistan Jewellers Manufacturers Association, disclosed the updated price for the valuable yellow metal, now standing at Rs212,100 per tola. Similarly, the price for 10 grams of gold observed a rise of Rs1,114, reaching Rs82,698.
Globally, gold prices are ascending and currently rest at $1,957 per ounce. Concurrently, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) reached a noteworthy achievement by surpassing the 55,000-point threshold, establishing a fresh all-time high. This surge is credited to various positive factors, including clarity on the election date and optimistic expectations for a favorable review from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
