ISLAMABAD: The federal government has revised fuel prices for the upcoming fortnight, implementing a significant increase in both petrol and diesel rates. As per the latest notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, petrol will now cost Rs 272.15 per litre, reflecting an increase of Rs 5.36, while the price of high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs 11.37, bringing it to Rs 284.35 per litre.
These new rates will remain in effect from July 16 to July 31, following the government's routine fuel price adjustments based on global oil trends and currency exchange fluctuations. The price hike is expected to have a ripple effect on transportation costs and commodity prices across the country.
The government reviews fuel prices every two weeks, aligning them with international market shifts and local fiscal considerations, including taxation and import costs.
