KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait has revoked the citizenship of 28 more individuals as part of its ongoing nationwide review of nationality records, reinforcing strict enforcement of Kuwait citizenship laws and legal compliance measures across the country.

According to local media reports, the decision was officially published in a special supplement of the government gazette Kuwait Al-Youm. The action was issued under Decision No. 53/9/2026 by the Supreme Committee for Kuwaiti Citizenship Investigation, which is responsible for reviewing nationality cases and ensuring adherence to legal standards.

The citizenship revocations were carried out under Article 11 of Kuwait’s Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959, which defines the legal conditions under which citizenship may be withdrawn. Authorities stated that the move is part of ongoing Kuwait nationality law enforcement and broader administrative reforms aimed at strengthening identity verification systems.

Officials confirmed that the Supreme Committee regularly reviews citizenship records to detect irregularities, discrepancies, or violations in documentation. The Ministry of Interior has emphasized that all decisions made by the committee are legally binding and serve to protect the integrity of Kuwait’s citizenship framework.

Authorities have urged residents and citizens to rely only on official government sources for accurate updates regarding Kuwait citizenship news and legal developments. They further noted that misinformation regarding nationality decisions should be avoided.

The latest revocation comes amid wider Kuwait legal reforms and continuous monitoring of nationality records. In parallel, Kuwait has also updated its foreign recruitment policy for domestic workers, specifying approved countries for employment under revised immigration guidelines.

Officials say these steps reflect Kuwait’s commitment to maintaining transparent governance, strengthening legal compliance, and ensuring proper regulation of citizenship and labor systems within the country.
