RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed that Pakistan remains a responsible player in promoting regional stability and cooperative security, particularly amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS Munir underscored Pakistan’s diplomatic approach rooted in dialogue, international law, and peaceful conflict resolution.

During his official visit to the United States, the army chief engaged with leading policy analysts, think tank experts, and international media in Washington, D.C. He presented Pakistan’s perspective on regional and global conflicts, stressing its balanced and principled stance. The visit comes amid the Israel-Iran conflict and follows recent armed clashes between Pakistan and India after the Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir — an incident New Delhi blamed on Islamabad without evidence.

Munir discussed Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, Pakistan’s military response, and the resulting US-brokered ceasefire, which ended the brief but deadly conflict on May 10. He praised President Trump’s mediation efforts and called for renewed focus on resolving the Kashmir dispute.

The COAS also highlighted Pakistan’s sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism and condemned regional actors exploiting terrorism as part of hybrid warfare strategies. He invited global collaboration in sectors like IT, agriculture, and mining, showcasing Pakistan’s untapped economic potential.

He emphasized the historic Pakistan-US relationship, particularly in counter-terrorism and security cooperation, and called for deeper strategic engagement based on mutual respect and shared goals.
