REUTERS - Russia, China, and Pakistan have jointly put forward a draft resolution to the United Nations Security Council, urging an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Middle East, according to a report by Reuters. The proposal comes ahead of an emergency session of the Security Council.

While the exact timing for a vote on the resolution remains uncertain, diplomats have confirmed that the three nations have circulated the draft text among council members.

They have requested that feedback and comments be submitted by Monday evening. For the resolution to be adopted, it must receive at least nine affirmative votes from the 15-member Council, with no vetoes from any of the five permanent members — the United States, France, Britain, Russia, or China.

The move highlights increasing international efforts to address the escalating conflict in the region through diplomatic channels and reflects a coordinated stance by the three countries calling for an end to hostilities.
