Saudi Arabia has introduced a new multiple-entry Umrah visa, allowing pilgrims to visit the Kingdom several times within a year as part of ongoing efforts to improve religious tourism and streamline travel procedures.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the new visa will be valid for 365 days from the date of issuance and will permit multiple entries into Saudi Arabia. Visitors can stay in the Kingdom for a cumulative period of up to 90 days during the visa’s validity, provided they comply with all applicable Saudi regulations.
The initiative forms part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy and the Pilgrim Experience Program, which aim to enhance services for pilgrims, simplify travel requirements, and improve the overall Umrah experience.
Under the new system, visa holders must purchase an approved service package through the Nusuk platform before every trip. The package must be obtained from an authorised service provider, and its validity cannot exceed the remaining validity period of the visa.
In addition, all pilgrims are required to obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk application before arriving in Saudi Arabia. Authorities said these measures are intended to better manage pilgrim arrivals while ensuring efficient service delivery.
The ministry also explained that the visa will automatically deactivate after each departure from Saudi Arabia. It will only be reactivated before a subsequent visit once all required conditions, including the purchase of a new service package, have been fulfilled.
However, the multiple-entry Umrah visa will not be available during the annual Hajj season. The visa will remain inactive from the 1st of Dhu Al Qadah until the 13th of Dhu Al Hijjah, in line with Saudi Arabia’s regulations governing Hajj operations.
The introduction of the one-year multiple-entry visa reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to facilitate religious travel while supporting its goal of attracting millions of pilgrims annually. The new system is expected to provide greater flexibility for international visitors planning multiple Umrah journeys throughout the year while maintaining organised and secure pilgrimage arrangements.
