KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced a public holiday on Thursday, 1 January 2026. On this day, all banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will remain closed for customer services.

Despite the closure, all bank employees are required to attend the office as usual. Customers are advised to plan their transactions in advance to avoid inconvenience. Digital banking services, including online and mobile banking, will remain available during the holiday.
