LAKKI MARWAT: Seven police personnel, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were martyred after an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near a police mobile van in Bettani Tehsil of Lakki Marwat on Friday.
According to a police spokesperson, six officers lost their lives at the scene of the blast, while a constable who was critically injured later died after being shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
The martyred SHO was identified as Saddar Azam. Following the attack, security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched an investigation while collecting evidence from the site.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi strongly condemned the incident and paid tribute to the fallen officers. In a statement, he expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and praised the bravery of the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
He stated that the courageous officers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police laid down their lives to ensure a peaceful future for the nation. The minister also acknowledged the ongoing sacrifices made by the province’s police force in the fight against terrorism, emphasizing that the nation will always remember the bravery and dedication of its martyrs.
