KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi on Thursday formally framed charges against two accused, Armaghan and Shiraz, in the high-profile Mustafa Amir murder case.

During court proceedings, both defendants pleaded not guilty to the allegations. The court subsequently issued notices to prosecution witnesses and summoned them to appear on March 12 for the recording of evidence.

According to the prosecution, Mustafa Amir was allegedly kidnapped and killed by his friends in the city’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on January 6, 2025.

Earlier, the prosecution presented a forensic analysis of the prime suspect Armaghan’s laptop, mobile phone, USB devices, and CDs. The report reportedly contains evidence related to the murder, money laundering activities, and the operation of an illegal call centre.

Investigators have listed more than 40 witnesses against the two accused. The prosecution stated that Armaghan allegedly lured the victim to his residence, where he was subjected to severe torture.

According to the challan submitted before the court, Armaghan and Shiraz later transported Mustafa in his own vehicle to Balochistan, where he was allegedly burned to death after the car was set on fire.

The case has attracted significant public attention as investigators revealed further details about the prime suspect’s alleged business dealings, digital currency accounts, and other activities during the course of the inquiry.
