GAZA CITY: Over 100 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 400 injured in Israeli strikes across Gaza in the past 24 hours, including 21 fatalities since dawn, according to Palestinian health officials.
Israeli airstrikes targeted areas in the northern and southern parts of the enclave, hitting residential buildings east of the Jabalia refugee camp and homes east of Gaza City. In the south, a drone attack on tents in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis killed five people, including two girls. Notably, al-Mawasi had previously been designated a "safe zone" by Israeli authorities.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces conducted multiple raids in the occupied West Bank, arresting Palestinians from towns including Arura, Jalazone, Kafr Malek, Balata, and al-Khader.
The weekend death toll now stands at 108, with at least 393 reported injured. The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate due to Israel's ongoing blockade, now in its third month. Nearly 1.95 million people—93% of Gaza’s population—are facing severe food insecurity, and many are at risk of starvation, according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC).
Medical services are also nearing collapse. Gaza's Health Ministry Director Munir al-Bursh warned that hospitals could shut down within 48 hours without fuel for generators. Calls for immediate humanitarian access have intensified.
Since October 7, 2023, over 54,880 Palestinians have been killed and more than 126,000 injured. Israel is currently under international scrutiny, facing ICC arrest warrants and a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
