GAZA CITY: Gaza’s Health Ministry has raised alarm over the worsening humanitarian situation, warning that hospitals across the blockaded territory are on the verge of shutting down due to a critical shortage of fuel.

In a statement released on Telegram, the ministry said medical facilities were “entering a highly dangerous stage,” with vital departments expected to cease operations within days unless fuel deliveries resume.

“The coming days may witness the suspension of essential hospital services, which would intensify the health catastrophe and put the lives of patients and the injured at grave risk,” the statement read.

Officials noted that emergency measures to reduce energy consumption have already been exhausted. With fuel supplies depleted, hospitals are struggling to power generators needed to operate intensive care units, surgical wards, dialysis centers, and neonatal incubators.

The ministry urged urgent international action, stressing that without immediate intervention, Gaza’s fragile healthcare system could face a total breakdown with dire and unpredictable consequences for thousands of people relying on life-saving treatment.
