KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in Karachi starting Monday evening, under the influence of a westerly weather system.
Deputy Director of the Meteorological Department, Anjum Nazir Zaigham, stated that the weather system will likely persist in Karachi until May 10, bringing three spells of westerly winds. He advised residents to prepare for possible heavy rain and strong gusts during this period.
The Met Office has also predicted partially cloudy conditions across most districts of Sindh. However, rain with thunderstorms and strong winds is expected in Karachi, Sanghar, Umarkot, Matiari, Mithi, Thatta, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Chhor, Jacobabad, Larkana, Dadu, Mirpur Khas, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Khairpur, and nearby areas. Some regions may also experience heavy rain and hailstorms during the wet spell.
On Tuesday, most parts of Sindh will remain hot and dry, though dust storms and showers are likely in Umarkot, Tharparkar, and Mirpur Khas.
Rainfall is also predicted in parts of lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern and southern Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, and Kashmir, with heavy showers in southeastern Sindh and southern Punjab at isolated locations.
