RIYADH: Pakistan has strongly condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza, calling the reported acts of genocide and repeated ceasefire violations unacceptable.
At a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Riyadh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed deep concern over continued breaches of the Gaza truce. He noted that Arab and Islamic nations have collectively raised alarms over violations, reaffirming Pakistan’s firm stance against such actions.
Describing the humanitarian situation in Gaza as “unbearable,” Dar criticized Israel’s expansionist policies and illegal settlements in Palestinian territories, stating that they cannot be tolerated. He highlighted the critical role of the OIC in fostering peace, regional stability, and cooperation among Muslim countries.
Dar urged immediate steps to halt hostilities and emphasized the urgent need for reconstruction in Gaza. He said Pakistan is coordinating with friendly nations to support efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable and long-term ceasefire.
Reiterating Pakistan’s longstanding position, the deputy prime minister affirmed the country’s support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, noting that the leadership has consistently upheld this stance in international forums.
