DOHA: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stressed that mere condemnation of Israel is insufficient, urging the international community to take immediate steps to halt its aggression. He called for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, warning that Pakistan, as a nuclear power, would defend its sovereignty at any cost against any threat.

In an interview with Qatar’s Al Jazeera, Dar strongly denounced Israel’s strikes on Qatar, terming them unjustifiable after earlier attacks on Lebanon and Syria. He said Pakistan, in coordination with Somalia, has demanded an emergency UN Security Council meeting. He added that as a close ally of Qatar, Pakistan actively contributed to the Arab-Islamic summit in Doha, describing Israel’s action as shocking and unacceptable.

Dar noted that Gaza’s people face immense suffering, and Israel’s provocations prove its unwillingness to restrain itself. He reiterated Pakistan’s stance of promoting dialogue and unity within the Muslim Ummah, emphasizing that meaningful negotiations require seriousness. He also underlined the need for Security Council reforms and reaffirmed that India cannot unilaterally revoke the Indus Waters Treaty.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, where both sides condemned Israel’s attack on Doha. They agreed to strengthen Pakistan-Qatar ties and highlighted the urgency of Muslim unity in the face of Israeli aggression.
