PARIS/TEHRAN: France has ruled out lifting sanctions on Iran until the Strait of Hormuz fully reopens, amid rising tensions in the Gulf region and growing concerns over global oil supply routes. French officials said stability in the Strait of Hormuz is essential before any discussion on easing restrictions against Tehran.
Meanwhile, Iranian authorities announced that government ministries and public offices will resume full operations from May 9 after temporary disruptions caused by regional tensions.
Iran has also denied allegations of attacking a South Korean cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials rejected the accusations and said Tehran remains committed to maritime security and regional stability.
In another development, Iran’s football federation chief confirmed plans to meet FIFA officials in the coming days to seek assurances regarding Iran’s participation in the FIFA World Cup amid geopolitical tensions and travel concerns.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a key global shipping route, closely monitored by international markets and world powers.
