ISLAMABAD: The government has announced a significant reduction in petroleum prices, providing relief to citizens ahead of the New Year. Petrol prices have been cut by Rs10.28 per litre, bringing the new rate down to Rs253.17 per litre. Similarly, high-speed diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs8.57 per litre and will now be sold at Rs257.08 per litre.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the revised prices will take effect from midnight tonight and will remain applicable until January 15, 2026. The move comes at a crucial time, as consumers across Pakistan continue to struggle with high inflation and increasing living expenses.
The price cut is expected to ease financial pressure on households while also benefiting key sectors such as transport and logistics. Lower fuel costs may help reduce transportation expenses and improve supply chain efficiency. The decision reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to manage domestic fuel prices amid fluctuating international oil markets.
