The National Accounts Committee (NAC), during its 118th meeting, approved revised economic estimates based on updated import data and changes to annual and quarterly indicators, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said.
Pakistan’s economy was valued at Rs126.4 trillion, equivalent to $450.4 billion, in FY26, while per capita income reached Rs531,897, or $1,896.
The committee also revised GDP growth for FY25 to 3.11 percent from the previous estimate of 3.18 percent.
Quarterly figures showed growth of 3.89 percent in the first quarter, 4.31 percent in the second and 4.42 percent in the third quarter. However, growth dropped to 2 percent in the final quarter, compared with 6.07 percent during the corresponding period last year.
The PBS attributed the slowdown partly to a high base effect. Industrial activity contracted 4.70 percent in the fourth quarter, while agriculture grew 3.71 percent and services expanded 3.62 percent.
For the full fiscal year, agriculture growth was revised upward to 3.50 percent, supported by improved crop production. However, industrial growth was lowered to 3.34 percent, while services sector growth was revised down to 3.81 percent.
Large-scale manufacturing growth was also reduced to 5.01 percent from the earlier estimate of 6.11 percent.
The revised figures highlight mixed economic performance, with improvements in agriculture and selected industries offset by weaker manufacturing and services growth.
The updated estimates provide a revised assessment of Pakistan’s economic performance during FY26.
