ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has published a verified list of 113 authorised Umrah companies in a bid to safeguard pilgrims from fraud and ensure transparent services. The list, now available on the ministry’s official website, will remain valid for the Islamic year 1447 Hijri (2025–26).
According to officials, the ministry has instructed intending pilgrims to verify operator details online before booking their packages. All payments must be deposited through banks directly into the official account of the selected company, with pilgrims required to obtain a proper receipt and a copy of the service contract.
In the first phase, agreements of 53 Umrah operators from different parts of the country were attested. The verified companies include operators based in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar. Officials said these operators underwent a rigorous scrutiny process to meet the government’s set standards, aimed at preventing scams and financial exploitation.
Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt advised pilgrims to rely only on listed operators when arranging their travel. He added that the attested list will remain valid for one year, while other companies are encouraged to complete their documentation and agreement requirements under ministry regulations.
