ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday emphasized the need for sustained dialogue and diplomatic engagement during a telephonic conversation with Abbas Araghchi, as regional tensions continue to draw global attention.

According to the Foreign Office Pakistan, the two leaders discussed ongoing developments in the region, including the recent ceasefire and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to facilitate engagement between Iran and the United States. Dar highlighted that continuous dialogue remains essential to resolve outstanding issues and ensure long-term regional peace and stability.

Araghchi appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting diplomatic channels and acknowledged Islamabad’s efforts in supporting peace initiatives. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination in the coming days as diplomatic momentum builds.

In a related development, the Iranian foreign minister also held a separate conversation with Asim Munir, focusing on ceasefire-related matters and broader regional security concerns. The interaction underscores the growing importance of Pakistan’s role in mediating complex geopolitical tensions.

Meanwhile, Islamabad remains on high alert as authorities continue strict security measures in anticipation of possible high-level talks between US and Iranian delegations. Key areas, including the Red Zone and Blue Area, have been sealed, affecting daily life, business activity, and transportation across the capital.

Officials indicate that preparations are ongoing and that delegations, potentially including Donald Trump, could arrive at short notice for a new round of negotiations. However, no confirmed schedule has been announced yet.

Separately, Dar also held a telephonic conversation with Sergey Lavrov to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation on multilateral platforms. Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of diplomacy in maintaining international peace and security.

Analysts believe Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic engagement places it at the center of regional peace efforts, though the success of these initiatives will depend on continued dialogue and cooperation among global stakeholders.
