Karachi: Alleged high-profile drug dealer Anmol alias “Pinky,” accused of running a cocaine trafficking network in Pakistan, was presented before a Judicial Magistrate court in Karachi on Tuesday in multiple criminal cases. The court rejected the police request for physical remand and instead sent the suspect to jail on judicial remand.
According to police officials, the accused is facing several serious charges, including possession of narcotics, illegal weapons, and attempted murder linked to drug-related activities. Separate cases against Anmol alias Pinky have been registered at Baghdadi and Garden police stations in Karachi.
During the hearing, the prosecution requested a six-day physical remand for further interrogation. The investigation officer informed the court that the custody of the suspect was necessary to uncover the alleged drug trafficking network and recover additional evidence connected to cocaine production and distribution.
However, the court denied the request and ordered judicial remand for the accused. The judge also directed the investigation officer to submit charge sheets in all pending cases within 14 days.
Earlier, the arrest of Anmol alias Pinky attracted attention after the suspect was brought to court without handcuffs, sparking discussions about alleged special treatment. Reports claimed that the investigating officer escorted the accused into the courtroom while walking behind her. Sources also stated that the suspect appeared confident and believed she would soon be released.
Police arrested the alleged narcotics supplier during an intelligence-based operation conducted by Garden Police with assistance from security agencies. Authorities claimed that Pinky was among the most wanted drug traffickers in Pakistan and was allegedly involved in the manufacturing and supply of high-grade cocaine in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
Officials further revealed that the accused operated a mobile drug laboratory. During the raid, police recovered one kilogram of semi-prepared cocaine, more than 15 cocaine capsules, ketamine, ephedrine, methamphetamine, lidocaine, and a pistol.
