KARACHI: Karachi is expected to receive light rain and drizzle over the next three days as moist winds from the Arabian Sea continue to influence weather conditions across Sindh, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The PMD’s Early Warning Centre said the city is likely to experience stronger-than-normal winds along with light rain or drizzle on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, offering some relief from the prevailing humid weather.
The Met Office forecast Karachi’s minimum temperature to remain between 28°C and 30°C, while daytime temperatures are expected to range from 33°C to 35°C. Morning humidity levels are likely to stay between 70% and 80%, gradually decreasing to 55% to 65% by the evening.
According to the PMD, moisture-laden currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating the upper and central parts of Pakistan, while a westerly weather system is affecting the country's northern regions. These weather patterns are expected to trigger rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in several areas.
Most districts of Sindh will continue to experience hot and humid conditions. However, rain accompanied by dust storms and thunderstorms is likely in districts including Dadu, Larkana, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, and Qambar Shahdadkot.
Meanwhile, coastal areas of Sindh, including Karachi, are expected to remain partly cloudy with intermittent strong winds and isolated spells of light rain or drizzle through July 15.
The PMD has advised residents to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts, particularly in areas vulnerable to heavy winds and thunderstorms.
