ABBOTTABAD: Police have arrested another major suspect in the abduction and murder case of Dr Warda Mushtaq, marking a key development in the investigation. The suspect, identified as Adil, was taken into custody, and Dr Warda’s mobile phone and ATM card were recovered from him.
According to Superintendent of Police Ayaz Khan, the accused confessed to digging a pit used to bury the victim’s body. Acting on his identification, police also recovered a large cache of weapons from the residence of another suspect, Shamraiz, including rifles and other arms.
The suspect was produced before an Anti-Terrorism Court, which granted a seven-day physical remand. Investigators say the murder was premeditated, allegedly motivated by a dispute over gold. Protests were later held by doctors demanding justice, while the victim’s family voiced concerns over the initial police response.
