KVTC honors 56 graduates at 2025 ceremony in Karachi

KARACHI: The Karachi Vocational Training Centre (KVTC) proudly hosted its Graduation Ceremony 2025 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi, celebrating the achievements of 56 differently abled students who have successfully completed their journey through KVTC’s unique blend of rehabilitation services.

The evening was a vibrant celebration of resilience, potential, and purpose, attended by an esteemed gathering of dignitaries, including Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, who graced the event as Chief Guest and Executive Director Estate Branch DHA Brig Amir Rasheed. The occasion also honored KVTC’s national pride – eight para-athletes who represented Pakistan in Japan and Malaysia, returning home with a remarkable 13 Gold and 2 Silver medals under the supervision of Grand Master Najam Khan-head of the team and team manager Mr Amir Shahab. CM Sindh presented medals to the athletes in a powerful moment of national pride and inclusivity.

Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, CEO of KVTC, in his heartfelt remarks, said: “At KVTC, we don’t just train minds—we nurture purpose. Every graduate walking across this stage today is a beacon of what belief, opportunity, and inclusion can achieve. Our mission remains clear: to empower the differently abled through dignity, skill, and independence.”

Honorable CM Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh, shared his heartfelt thoughts: “In a world where barriers often outshine opportunities, KVTC is a beacon of hope and transformation. I am deeply moved by the unwavering spirit of these graduates who have turned challenges into milestones. KVTC's work proves that true progress lies in inclusion and empowerment. These young individuals are not just the future—they are the proud present of our nation. The Government of Sindh stands with KVTC in its mission to uplift every life touched by special needs.”

Brig Amir Rasheed, commended the institution’s commitment: “I have witnessed today not just a ceremony, but a powerful celebration of human potential. KVTC is doing what few institutions manage—building confident, skilled individuals ready to take on the world. We at DHA Karachi deeply admire their commitment and will continue to extend our support in every possible way.”

Mr. Tuaha Ahmed Farooqui, Secretary DEPD, also graced the event.

“KVTC is proving its worth every day by transforming lives through rehabilitation and opportunity,” said Dr. Akhtar Aziz, President of KVTC. “We are empowering differently-abled individuals to lead lives of dignity and purpose," he added.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Amir Paracha, Chairman of Unilever Pakistan and General Body Member of KVTC, applauded KVTC's role in creating a future of equal opportunity for the differently abled in Pakistan.

The event was further distinguished by the announcement made by Dr. Seema Mughal, Chancellor of Greenwich University, of an honorary doctorate to be awarded to Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan in recognition of his tireless efforts in the fields of health, education and empowerment of persons with special needs.

Mr. Asghar Ali Jamali – CEO, Indus Motor Company announced the sponsorship of students at KVTC as well as well initiate entrepreneurship opportunities for the students. He also announced a prize money for the 8 Para Taekwondo champions who have won gold medals for Pakistan.

The event was enriched by the presence of Dr. Akhtar Aziz Khan, Mr. Qaysar Alam, Mr. Omar Khan, and the management team including Ms. Farheen Amir, Mr. Amir Shahab, Ms. Sana Ayaz, Ms. Sabeen Waqar, Ms. Maria Khan, Dr. Reema Sajjad, Mr. Shoaib Ahmed, and Ms. Ammarah Shafique.

Addressing the ceremony, Ms. Farheen Amir, Chief Operating Officer of KVTC, expressed gratitude: “This grand celebration would not be possible without the unwavering support of our partners and donors. Thank you for walking beside us in this journey of inclusion and empowerment.”

Adding another inspiring voice to the evening, Ms. Maria Khan, Director – Khudee Café & Bakery by KVTC, spoke about the transformation she’s witnessed: “Khudee was born from the idea that every individual deserves a life of dignity. Today, many of our graduates are not just working at Khudee, they are thriving—living independent lives full of purpose and confidence.”

A special Valedictory Speech was delivered by KVTC graduate Zuha Khan, capturing the hopes, challenges, and triumphs of her fellow graduates. The event also featured a heart-touching musical performance by the KVTC band-Soulful Harmony.

Media representatives captured powerful visuals of the certificate and medal presentations, graduate interviews, and student showcases. The evening concluded with a celebratory dinner, leaving guests inspired by the strength and achievements of the KVTC community.
