LAHORE: Religious and political organizations across Pakistan are set to hold nationwide rallies today, following Friday prayers, to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine and to condemn the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza. These protests are being organized in response to escalating violence in the region, with thousands expected to participate across major cities and districts.
The National Palestine Conference, organized by Majlis-e-Ittehad-e-Ummat, issued a declaration naming Friday as the “Day of the Oppressed and Detained Palestinians.” The declaration strongly condemned Israeli actions and urged the Pakistani government to sever diplomatic relations with countries maintaining ties with Israel until an unconditional ceasefire is enforced. The participants of the conference also demanded the United Nations Security Council hold an emergency meeting to push for a lasting and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) announced protest rallies in all district headquarters, calling upon its members and the public to gather after Friday prayers to denounce Israeli brutality. The party leadership emphasized that global silence on the killing of innocent civilians, including women and children, cannot be tolerated.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has also announced a nationwide protest movement today in support of the Palestinian cause. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, will lead a major protest rally in Lahore, with large turnouts expected. The party stated that these protests are meant to raise awareness and call for immediate international intervention.
These nationwide demonstrations reflect Pakistan’s growing anger and unity in support of the Palestinian people during this critical time.
