BALOCHISTAN: A police officer was martyred and three others injured when unidentified assailants opened fire on their vehicle near Choto along the National Highway in Mastung district on Friday, officials confirmed.
The targeted vehicle was carrying an acting Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), who remained unharmed in the attack, according to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind.
The injured personnel were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Security forces swiftly arrived at the scene and launched a search operation to locate the attackers. Authorities suspect the incident was a targeted assault aimed at the police vehicle.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility, and officials have not disclosed any information regarding the motive or identity of the gunmen.
