WAGAH: Pakistan and India exchanged one prisoner each today at the Wagah-Attari border, according to security sources from both sides.

Indian national and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel Pranam Kumar Shah was handed over to Indian authorities by Pakistani officials. In a reciprocal gesture, Mohammadullah, a personnel of Pakistan’s Punjab Rangers, was returned to Pakistani custody by Indian authorities.

The exchange was confirmed to have taken place at the Wagah-Attari border crossing, a site historically used for such coordinated handovers.

This development comes shortly after a renewed commitment to peace between the two countries. On May 12, the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) from both sides reconnected and reaffirmed their agreement to uphold the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC), signaling a cautious step toward de-escalation and confidence-building.
