ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army is actively conducting large-scale military exercises in response to heightened tensions following a recent attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which Islamabad has denounced as a false flag operation by India.

According to security sources, the ongoing exercises involve the deployment of both light and heavy modern weaponry, including tanks, artillery, and infantry units. The drills are being carried out across several key sectors near the eastern border, including Sialkot, Narowal, Zafarwal, and Shakargarh.

These exercises are focused on enhancing operational readiness and showcasing the practical application of war strategies using modern arms. Military officials have emphasized that both officers and soldiers are demonstrating high levels of professionalism and preparedness during the drills.

Sources highlighted that the primary objective of the exercises is to reaffirm the Pakistan Army's readiness to defend the country against any potential aggression. “Our forces are resolute and fully prepared to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation,” they said. They added that officers and jawans are willing to make any sacrifice required for the security of the motherland.

These developments come shortly after an incident in the night hours of April 29-30, when four Indian Rafale jets were reported to have conducted aerial patrols near the Line of Control in Indian-held Kashmir. In response, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) swiftly detected the movement of the aircraft and launched an immediate counter-action. The Indian jets reportedly retreated upon the PAF’s timely and decisive response.

Security officials have reiterated that the Pakistani armed forces remain vigilant and fully capable of responding to any provocative moves. They warned that any hostile intent would be met with a strong and calculated reaction.

The current round of military exercises reflects Pakistan’s message of deterrence amid escalating regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic strains with India.
