The Pakistan women's U-19 squad has been announced for the upcoming five-match T20 home series against South Africa, with Fizza Fiaz appointed captain for the first-ever South Africa U-19 series in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s selectors unveiled a 17-member squad on Tuesday for the series, which will be played from July 14 to 24 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. South Africa’s U-19 women’s team is scheduled to arrive in Karachi on July 10 ahead of its historic maiden tour of Pakistan.

Fizza Fiaz, who represented Pakistan during the successful U-19 tour of Bangladesh in December 2025, will lead the side. The right-handed batter played two matches during that five-game T20 series and scored 72 runs, including a half-century, helping Pakistan secure a 3-2 series victory.

The 19-year-old has also impressed in domestic competitions, featuring in both the National Women’s T20 Tournament and the National Women’s U-19 Tournament 2025-26. Her consistent performances earned her the captaincy for the important home assignment against South Africa.

The Pakistan women's U-19 squad retains nine players from the Bangladesh tour, ensuring continuity and experience within the team. Returning players include Aqsa Habib, Areesha Ansari, Komal Khan, Memoona Khalid, Raahima Syed, Ravail Farhan, Rozina Akram and Zoofishan Ayyaz alongside captain Fizza Fiaz.

To prepare for the South Africa U-19 series, the selected players participated in two fitness and skills camps held in Karachi. The training camps focused on improving match fitness, fielding standards and tactical awareness ahead of the five-match contest.

The opening T20 will be played on July 14, with the remaining matches scheduled for July 17, 19, 22 and 24. All five fixtures will take place at the National Bank Stadium, providing both teams with consistent playing conditions throughout the series.

The upcoming series offers Pakistan’s young cricketers another opportunity to gain valuable international experience while continuing preparations for future ICC age-group competitions. It also marks a significant milestone for women’s cricket, as South Africa’s U-19 team tours Pakistan for the first time.

Cricket officials hope the series will strengthen bilateral sporting ties and provide an exciting platform for emerging talent from both nations to showcase their abilities at the international level.
