ISLAMABAD: US President Donald Trump is expected to visit Pakistan in mid-September as part of his broader South Asia tour, according to sources familiar with diplomatic developments. The visit is tentatively scheduled for September 18, 2025, and will also include a stop in India.

While the visit has generated significant anticipation, it has not yet been officially confirmed by either country. Senator Sherry Rehman of the Pakistan People’s Party welcomed the potential visit, calling it a positive development. However, she emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will formally confirm the visit once all arrangements are finalized.

President Trump previously claimed credit for de-escalating a major conflict between India and Pakistan in May 2025. On May 13, he announced that his administration had successfully mediated a ceasefire between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, preventing what he described as a potential nuclear conflict.

Speaking from the White House, Trump praised the leadership of both nations for their restraint and wisdom, saying they recognized the serious consequences of further escalation. He expressed optimism that the ceasefire would be permanent, describing the agreement as a turning point in regional stability.
