RIYADH: Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has directed the hosting of 1,000 Palestinian pilgrims—comprising families of martyrs, prisoners, and the injured—to perform Hajj this year at his personal expense, according to Saudi state media.
This initiative is part of the King Salman’s Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit, overseen by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance. The Minister and General Supervisor of the program, Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, expressed deep gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for this compassionate gesture.
He noted that the initiative underscores the Kingdom’s enduring commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and fostering Islamic unity. Al-Sheikh emphasized that the move aligns with Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to ease the Hajj journey for Palestinians.
The ministry has already begun implementing a detailed plan to ensure comprehensive support and services for the pilgrims—from their departure to their return—within a fully coordinated system throughout their stay in Makkah and Madinah.
Since its inception in 1417 AH, the program has hosted over 64,000 pilgrims from around the world, demonstrating
